Got A Good Head On My Shoulders

Photo

Today I was in Target and as we browsed the isles, my wife and I spotted this father and son laughing and enjoying their rainy Sunday afternoon.

It's awesome to spot someone having a father/son moment. I vicariously live through those moments & realize how much I enjoy being a father to my son. Even with all his hardheadness & terrible twos, I couldn't ask for another child.

The Woman In The Bowler

Photo

I loved this photo the moment I took it. Kind of romantic not seeing who the woman is but at the same time, we can all tell. She's an older woman. Her sense of style is so vintage and classic. The Hepburn or Dandridge of her time... Those youthful years are behind her now, but her style still lives on.

Harley Davidson Attitude, Huffy Lifestyle

Photo

I'm really liking Camerakit & it's really helping come on with my own processing style with my street photos. I saw this guy and his attitude is so bad-ass. The shades. The leather jacket. I just wish he had the wheels to match.

How Much For That Doggy In The Window?

Photo

I'm not a huge animal lover myself b/c I got a kid and he tears up enough stuff by himself and doesn't need any assistance. Here, I've been trying to snap more street photography which is hard when you live in the suburbs and have to drive 25 minutes to get to
the action.

I saw this dog hanging out the window, so happy and carefree. This was only for a moment, as you can see in the upper righthand corner. Another dog catches its eye & he was jumping all over the place to get his flirt on.

Getting Down & Dirty

Photo

Babies are so beautiful, carefree, & innocent. At this age, they don't care about their attire or impressing anyone. They care about love & happiness & smiles & fun. O, the ills of adulthood. How I wish my life was as simple as playing with some straw to have a good time.

Youthful Blue Eyes

Photo

This girl was adorable and so sassy. She walked up to me and told me her name and asked me a ton a questions. I answered everyone though because she was cute (I guess I'm a sucker for a good-llooker) & snapped a few photos too.

Make Music, Not War

Photo

After visiting my mom at the hospital (allergic reaction to some antibiotics), I made a quick swing to the Southside since I very seldom get to be downtown around 1:30 and I was hoping to get some good shots with different angles of light.

I saw this street performer outside my favorite breakfast spot (Original Pancake House) singing from his heart like we were still in the era of Woodstock and flower power. No groud had gathered so I took pictures from afar but was unsatisfied with the outcome. After $2 in donations, I decided that I bought my shot, got in close and snapped away until I captured my moment. The passion in his voice about war & the devastation in Haiti rang loud over the honking horns and distant sirens. I wish everyone could hear the words of his songs.

Autumn: From Green To Red

Photo

I was inspired by a Scot Scott's post back in the fall and recreated it for myself. The sun seemed to warm the leaves and shined through that day & the colors worked well against a cloudless sky.

Mascara

Photo

This is one of earliest pics and still one of my favorites to date. We were headed to see "Elmo Live" & I thought she looked so naturally beautiful which sounds funny when someone is applying makeup.

Caged Vines

Photo

I took my mom to the social security office to get her a replacement card and these vines were growing up the side up the building. This picture would probably look plain with the wiring and the hint of shadows add to the picture.
